SEFEC has designed a comprehensive capacity building package and a technical assistance tool kits that enhance the capabilities of the grass roots financial institutions to serve local Entrepreneurs. These training and coaching tools were developed with the involvement of local and international professionals as well as local cooperative activists.

SANASA Campus is the main training arm through which Capacity Building programs are delivered. SEFEC, enable SANASA campus with market and business intelligence to better streamline their training content and approach annually.

SEFEC’s Capacity Building Programs were designed under EFFEC project specifically to build local cooperative societies (SANASA Primary Societies) and local Entrepreneurs.

Sanasa Primary Societies are developing their financial services to serve their members and clients in a rapidly changing financial market. Primary Societies are required to increase their knowledge, skills and capacities to confidently meet changing business environments. The entire package consist of 7 modules and 4 types of capability areas are strengthened.

Building capacities of local Entrepreneurs

SEFEC Capacity Building programme is linked with the National training institute of SANASA group., SANASA campus.
The CBP offer supports entrepreneurs to face the challenges of a fast moving and highly competitive business environment and stay competitive with a sustainable growth.
The following training programs and tools for entrepreneurs were developed by SEFEC through a combined effort from SANASA Campus, EFFEC project staff and SANASA Trust Companies. Four levels of competencies with 10 modules are designed to improve the competency of entrepreneurs.

  • Market Survey
    Market opportunities underpin the value chain approach. When developing a value chain it is critical to be informed about consumer preferences and market trends. SEFEC has developed a comprehensive toolkit to perform the necessary market research oriented to value chain development. Working closely with SANASA Campus, both market research and analysis, regionally and nationally, may be conducted on a macro and consumer level for any particular product/service within the work scope of one to three months.
  • Value Chain Analysis
    When there are market opportunities, an in-depth Value Chain Analysis will evidence the most efficient way to reach a market segment.
    SEFEC has developed a strategy as well as a complete set of tools to analyse a value chain and suggest a way forward with a comprehensive action plan to develop strong value chains. Value Chain Analysis may be conducted for any sector or product within a work scope of three months.
  • Institutional Diagnostics
    Prior to suggesting a capacity building strategy, it is essential to make an institutional diagnostic to identify the key elements that need to be reinforced, set up priorities and build an appropriate action plan. SEFEC and SANASA Campus have developed a set of diagnostic tools to support the capacity building component. The main diagnostic tools developed are for the following organizational entities:
